Common pleco question

What is the average rate of growth for a common pleco a month? Thanks

I had a sailfin that seemed to grow from an inch to 12 inches in one year then slow down to a couple of inches a year stopping at 16 inches and he was 5 years old and in a 125 gave him to a friend and he put him in a 285 and he is still about 16 inches and 10 years old and really thick.

Your question is asking what the growth rate is on a blanket name. There are many different species sold as common plecos.
