Hi!
I have a 13” common pleco with one cloudy eye. For a while I did daily ~25% water changes, but it didn’t seem to help. I’m not sure what to do for him now.
He lives in a 36 gallon tank by himself. He used to live with a pair of angelfish when he was smaller. I’m looking to upgrade the tank; ideas on size welcome. He’s 5-6 years old.

Any help appreciated!

Not much else you can do. Eye injuries take a long time to heal, like months, and some may not heal at all

Ok. It’s been like that for 6ish months, and I was getting worried I wasn’t doing something I should have been.
Recently he hasn’t been eating quite as much as normal, so I’ll monitor the water extra carefully.

13” in a 36 gallon?? I think you should upgrade soon fast. 100g above is much better for it.

I had a BN pleco with the same eye... cleared up after treating with Waterlife Myxazin- not sure if it available in the US.

It is an anti bacterial med with formalin, malachite green and acriflavin as the main ingredients.

I’d say if your budget is tight get a 75 gallon, but if you have the money get a 6’ 125. Your Pleco should be able to live in there forever and will be much happie.
