Curious on what the growth rate of these guys are right now he is in a 55 gallon tank and he is 4 1/2 inch long. The tank will be upgraded to a 180 in about 4 months. Right now he is eating feeder guppies and sinking carnivore pellets Here is a picture of him.

really slow considering it's a CB sen. Maybe 2 to 3 inches a year.

From my experience with my bichir's , most grow in spurts. Don't worry you have time, as far as Senegal's concerned :)

Common Senegals make up for their lack of color with their outgoing personality :) but i had mines for less then a month and hes grown a good inch and really thickening up. He's been pellet trained by me since the first day getting him from petsmart. And he eats from my hand during feeding time. I think different factors lead to their growth rate. But hes only in a 10g right now and that shows you they can grow out fast even in a smaller tank for now. But i like training my monster fish in a small 10-20g that way i can pellet train them easier and get my one on one time lol sounds funny but it works.

thats pretty cool pbass. Yea he is very outgoing I've had him for 3 days and he loves to hang out at the top of the tank by the heater and circulation pump. He'll perch himself on top of the pump then swim down to my amazon sword plant and perch on the leaf lol he is very entertaining. I can't wait until he is big. My tank is a "monster" set up I have a black ghost knife (same size) 2 golden dojo loachs and I'm looking into a rope fish and a dragon goby. Basically long sleek fish is my theme.

where you get him? my petsmart senegal has been growing at a very fast rate. thickened up a lot and is always eating. probably grew about an .75-1in a month. hes bigger than my delhezi which was the biggest poly i had and also outgrew my albino senegal very quickly. all are about 5-7 inches now i believe and i think it really depends on eating habits/ genetics
