What are the most common unwanted Monster fish? You know, those fish people buy when they are small. Then rehome them when they get huge!

What do you think are the top 5 most unwanted Monster fish?

A few years ago you could find a lot of Ariopsis seemanni - Colombian shark catfish labeled as freshwater shark or other nonsense in nearly every LFS here.

Oh yeah another one:
Balas. Everyone gets the cute 2-3 inch guys at the store and two things happen. They get stunted in the 40 gallon tank that petsmart says is ok, or they just keep growing in larger tanks until they are way too big to be easily manageable. It’s not too common someone actually has a suitable tank (though I guess on this forum where 180 is small it isn’t as much a concern). It’s a shame that such a beautiful fish is subject to so much abuse. They should be marketed as the giants they are.

I am so confused by the appeal & demand for oscars in the hobby that I am beginning to be interested in finding out for myself if they are the water dogs they claim to be

It seems like everyone who has them loves them. Must be something about the fish.
For me, I just love the pattern. One of my favorite cichlids for that reason (probably second to festae in appearance to me) I’ve always wanted an Oscar. Personality is just a bonus.
