Hello I am not new here been here for years reading...anyways I use to have 4 tanks , cichlids and bichirs...got rid of them all when I moved (I regret it now) but I work from home and I'm wanting a nice community tank in my office...just purchased a used 75gal custom tank, with oak canopy, stand etc... its been drilled already and came with a 29gal tank on bottom, and the pump all that stuff, for the wet/dry sump filtration (I've never had one before, seems overwelming atm) anyways me and my gf want to do a community tank..bottom will be gravel, we don't like sand, I've use it before...just doesn't click with me. Anyways I have no idea about community style fish...so I'm looking for help from the pro's...we went to the lfs (only one we have) and wrote down a list of fish we really like...and I'm gonna post the long list here and I know a lot will have to be taken out, that's fine..so here's the list (sorry for this long rambling post) we know for sure that we want angels..so we'll base all these fish off of that
Angels for sure
[ ] Leopard daino
[ ] Neon tetra(gf loves these but I read angels will eat them, saw petsmart has jumbo neon tetra, would they work?)
[ ] Pictus catfish (really like these)
[ ] German blue ram
[ ] Black phantom tetra
[ ] Scissortail rasbora
[ ] Rummy nose tetra
[ ] Upside down catfish(really like these)
[ ] Glofish!
[ ] Prestella tetra
[ ] Albino corycat(really like these)
[ ] Black neon tetra
[ ] Irridesant shark aka fainting shark
[ ] Opaline guarmi
[ ] Bala shark (m)
[ ] Green corycat (m)

Anyways that's the list of the fish we like and we know for sure we want angels...thank you

From my personal experience I have had a couple of pictus cats that I have had to transfer from my community tank to my puffer tank because they were a little too aggressive. I watched them go after my tetras as well as my favored ghost knife fish! They seem to actually be doing well in my aggressive tank setup, it could just be the fact that puffers are fairly slow and the pictuses are fairly fast moving fish... Hope this helps!

I guess I need to add I will be using fake plants not live...but the ram/angel/cories/upside down cats/large tetra school would be neat...not sure how many rams and angels I can get away with though without fighting? And that sucks about the pictus being kind of aggressive..they are so cool looking..thanks

ID sharks get HUGE! It would out grow that aquarium for shore. I am surprised that no one else caught that.
