Community CA/SA 55 gal

Can I do a community cichlid tank in my 55 gal. I was thinking getting like a green terror, jack dempsey, firemouth and a con.

Ok. Thanks. Is it ok if all the fish are around the same size? Should some be larger than others. From stores around the the gt would be largest then the con then the firemouth and jd

i'd be somewhat cautious on the size of the fish you plan to introduce. A 2" con is going to be much tougher and more mature than a 2"gt, so keep that in mind. Its also been my experience that gt and jd might not get along so be sure to keep an eye on things.

To me that's too much size and aggression for a 55 gal. I would say GT or Dempsey in a 55 with the firemouth and con.

Too many fish for a 55 when full grown ,will this be a permanent home for them ? if yes then definitely no ... I think you need to rethink your selection .

GT would be bad news in that tank... solo GT or Con pair or firemouth pair OR jd pair... I highly discourage cichlid community 55s... never works out long term

I've put more inless, your exp. Maybe different then mine but I think you'd be fine for a while at least until the GT is very large which takes a long time.
