Just found a Yellow Comp. hanging out near a cave in my tank. I was joking w/my fiance and said that maybe it is guarding some eggs. So I got a flashlight and sure enough the inside of the cave has 30-40 eggs on the inside. The rock they are attached to is to large to remove to a seperate, so I need to leave them in the tank.

My quesions are, how good are the parents? The one guarding the entrace to the cave is doing his/her job very well.

Anyway to dif. sexes? I thought my Yellow Comps. were males since they never displayed any intrest in each other that way. One of them has much darker fins now, maybe a clue. I know I have a female Comp., but she is a Goldhead and only a little over 1.5", still a youngster.

Females are generally quite a bit smaller than the males.

Thanks, they happen to be the same size however.

Check inside... I thought I had two males then one just seemed like it was guarding a nest, turned out that way now I have wigglers.
