I picked one of these up for my Western Painted and put it in a 9" reflector. The box states its a repto bulb with good UVB output for 1 year.

Anyone ever use one of these? Its 26 Watts electrical and puts out a ton of light. Can this be used as a basking light? Or is this just a good all purpose UVB light?

Do you know what brand of bulb it is? At 26 watts it doesn't sound like it would work very well for basking but you are on the right track with providing UVB lighting.

What brand it is? Be extremely carefull if is a Zoomed´s compact

Its an Exo-Terra RepiGlow 5.0. Its 26W electrical butit puts out 1500 lumens like a 100Watt bulb.
I have one of thouse and they are also very good. It will fullfill your turtle´s uv needs.

Great, thanks for the info. Does anyone use a blacklight to keep there tank warm at night? If I have a submerisble heater in the water is that enough?

No, a submersible heater will be just fine as long as the water stays in the mid 70's. I use one in my Musk Turtle tank and it does a good job.
