Good morning, my first post to this great site

I got myself two small clown loaches(<1") :)this week in a standard 3ft tank. was wondering would any tetra's be good companions to bring the clowns out, they are hiding a lot behind the drift wood.

Thanks in advance

Forget the tetras, get more clown loaches!

From what i've experienced, the only dither fish for a clown loach is, more clown loaches. Now there are plenty of other fish that can live with them. But to get clowns more comfortable, you either need to reduce the light, and give them plenty of caves.

Couldn't agree more. They love strength in numbers and plenty of retreats.

If you plan on getting the 6 footer, then get a half dozen more CL's to grow out in the 3 foot tank. Once the settle in they will come out more. A little extra wood will calm things down.

That is the plan but CL:) are very expensive down in SA, i had to pay a hunderd bucks :cry:for the two i bought. so the school will take a while to get to reasonable numbers.
