So today was the day I started to stock my tank

I decided to add 3 fish first
oscar
severum (wild court red shoulder )
synipulis

Now I fort the issue would of been the oscar but it's not , the synipulis has done nuffin but the issue is the synipulis chasing the hell out of the Severum as is now getting stressed n not looking happy so options are

re home synipulis
re home Severum
pair up the Severum ?

My my planed stocking after this would be a green terror electric blue Dempsey and not sure what else yet

tank is a 5ft 125g

thanks in advance

How big are these fish and in how big is the tank? If tbe Syn and Sev are close in size, I'd give it a few days, watch em close. Try adding a couple more fish if you have a big enough tank. That could well help dissipate the Syn's aggression. Something close in size to tbe Syn, maybe even another Vieja. Try a divider for a few days maybe.

If your 3 current fish do get along eventually, your volume and footprint makes a full tank. When Oscar and Syn approach adult size you will actually be overstocked. The slow growing GT and even slower, much milder EBJD wouldnt stand a chance. You would need 6ft and 180g minimum.

The oscar is around 8inch and the seva nd syn are very similar in size around 6-7 inch , thanks for ur help I may add fish to bring the aggression down I was thinking doing this , the oscar and sev will have there own tank when bigger

Adding fish wont bring aggression down. It will only add stress to the current stock, put more strain on the bio load, and make things worse. SA/CA cichlids dont do well in crowded surroundings.

Thanks for the advice I added 2 more fish another Severum and a large pearl cichlids so far aggression has equaled out and the tank is a lot more relaxed am just gonna c how it goes and rehome certain fish as the main fish I want to keep ( oscar and synipulis ) grow , bio load wise am just gonna have to test every day and water change as I need to as my tank re cycles the active media I took from the pond
