I currently have 2 oscars in a 90 gallon. I have had these 2 (red and tiger) for 6 months now. They are 7-8 inches in length. There is a great deal I found for 2 paratalapia bleerki (5-6 inches) I am interested in. Would this work? Or is this too much fish for a 90. I've seen the bleerki and they are beautiful. Just wanted your thoughts and opinion.

By the way I'm new to this forum, my name is Dustin. I'm new to CA's. For the last 8 years my efforts have been in saltwater but finally ventured into freshwater recently because it been something that interested me for sometime.

Thanks in advance

Compatible or not . Sorry auto correct

Aggression might be an issue with the open space, it could work short term if you rearrange the tank and add lots of deco that breaks line of sight. Polleni I've had are very similar to oscar in temperament.
Long term of course you will be overstocked, if you plan an upgrade in the not too distant future go for it Imo, as always with cichlids it could go either way but I would say you have a 75% chance of success with the added decor... Will need a 180 once all full grown Imo.

You have some nice Oscars btw!
Welcome to mfk.
I noticed your sand is too deep, well Imo, just a warning you need to turn that sand over weekly or toxic gases can build up and poison your fish! Less than half that thickness would be much better and you would gain swimming space and water.
Could always add some Malaysian trumpet snails to turn it over for you!-)

I agree with justarn, a 90 is a bit small for all 4.
The problem might also occur that the 2 oscars own the entire tank (as their territory) and any new fish will be seen as an invader and need to be vanquished, and because new, at a disadvantage for at least the first couple days.
A tank with a much larger footprint will shortly be in order whatever happens.
Although the Madagascans can be fairly docile with other species, if threatened they are quite formidable, and could easily take out oscars.

Thanks for the feedback guys....last thing I want is a blood bath on my hands and also don't want to over crowd or stress anyone out. The unfortunate reAlity of the hobby is your always going to upgrade lol. I will wait until I have the adequate accommodations.

I appreciate the feedback

On a side note I live in the Chicagoland area is there a way to narrow that search for the buy sell threads

I usually just search for example I live in Orlando. I'll search Orlando, or local cities, zip codes or anything else. Check Craigslist as well.
