Any suggestions welcomed.

I currently have a 55gal tank that is home to a male JD and a female GT gold saum.

I am moving in a few months and am getting a 125g tank when i do move. I want to be able to keep the Jack dempsey in the tank and add a few others.

I plan on keeping the female GT in the 55gal with a male GT.

What I want to do is put the JD, escondido and a pearsei in a 125. does anyone see any complications to this group being housed together or the pearsei becoming a problem for the other 2 fish in a 125.

also just for reference the JD is 9.5 inches. so if i get juvi's they will not go in with the JD immediatly.

Thanks.

Hmm... personally, I would say go with a pearsi, escondido, and a synspilus and grow them out for a little while. Once they are big enough to where they won't get eaten, try them in the 125 with the JD. If it doesn't work you can give them to me and I'll put them in my 125 since you'll be my roommate haha!

I guess since i did not put any pictures in this thread nobody gives a flip. but hey if I said heres a bunch of pictures that you have all seen multiple times, then everyone ewws, and Ahhs. maybe we should name this site monsterfishpictures.com. :nilly:

however I still love the all the picture threads anyways! :D

Very true... Seems about 90% of the MFK people only want to see pictures, but you can't really blame them... I also love the picture threads.

It sucks though because no one wants to take the time to answer stocking questions because people ask questions like that all the time. But I'll help ya gerg... I'll help ya.

If anything I think the escondido will be the aggressor and potential trouble maker. They like to pick fights, doesn't matter wether they can win or not. It might work, but I personally prefer texas with fish a little more aggressive then what you have. Every JD I've ever owned was a complete wuss. I'm sure some can be mean, but I think there attitude it highly overrated. All bark and no bite. I think the GT, texas, and Pearsi would have a better chance of working. Why not get a female JD and keep a pair in the 55g instead of the GT's.

And don't hate on picture threads, they make the world go round!!!

His JD has already killed two texas's... he's no wuss i promise

What would you expect when you put a new much smaller fish in a 55g with a 9.5 inch fish? The JD has claimed the whole tank as it's territory.

Place the JD in 125g with a equal sized texas and GT and see if it fares so well.

dont pearsei's get to be like 14-16''? a 125 might be a little small for a fish that size with other tank mates. Unless i'm mistaken on the size of the fish.

Thanks for replying guys. Im not hating on picture threads I actually love them.. I was just looking for a little attention!

The JD was smaller than the first texas it killed and the second he actually protected until it started to threated its dominance. :screwy:

The peasei's size was my main concern with the compatability. I have thought about getting a festae(female) instead of the pearsei. But I do love the pearsei.

I wouldnt be apposed to getting a 180g if the right price came along.

any issues with a pearsei in a 180g?

Yea get the 180 & the pearsi should be ok they aren't to aggressive. I agree the esconido will probaly be the problem but in that size tank it should be enough room for them to conincide without death.
