right i am wondering if i could keep a polyterus senegalus , polyterus enlicheri and a polyterus ornatus together in a tank with a few cichlids 20cm +

What size tank you thinking?

I've seen laps and endlis kept with ropefish.

yeah thats weird about polys. Some people keep ropes with endlis... others get there 6" poly eaten by a 7 inch endli

Even smaller for me, 4" endlis ate some 3" endlis. I was piiiised, especially since I had just fed them a ton of shrimp to be 'safe'.

I can't find the link to CDM's photos, but I remember seeing some where he had a short body albino with his endli collection.

It's based on your endlis habits. Some will eat smaller bichirs, some wont.

The endi and ornate should be fine however the sene might not simply due to size issues it why i keep smaller species together and larger species together.I will grow them out together but once i notice a 2-3inch size difference they are seperated
but thats just me -Anne

I currently have 3 Sens, 3 Delz, 1 Ornate, and 1 Endli right now, but they're all about 6"

Thats not really relevant to this discussion, let us know in 2-3 years time if the endli hasn't eaten the dels or senegal.

And to the OP; the term 'cichlid' is so broad you might as well just say fish. What kind of cichlids are you planning on keeping them with?

I've got an endli and a lap both 13"-14" with an 8" sen no problems. Though the sen was the first poly in the tank followed by lap, ornate then endli so i don't know if that might have any impact.
