I am thinking about getting a south american lungfish that is about 2 feet long. The tank I want to put it in has a 16" RBP, a 18" TSN and an 18" silver aro. The tank is a 750. I have read lots of contradictory info on these lungfishes. Some say they should only be kept alone, and will eat everything else in the tank. Others say they seem to be pretty mellow. Will this combination work?

I have already seen 2 community tanks with lungfish. Both tanks with asian arowana. I think its ok as long as the size difference is not big.

A 16'' RBP? P's get that big? It could possibly work. Not at those sizes though. Lungfish is too big.

I take it the RBP means Pacu.

You shouldn't have any problem. I've kept SALs with the exact same species with no problems. The cautions you're referring to have to do with African LFs. I maintain all 6 known species of LF and none of my africans tolerate tankmates. My SALs are both in community tanks with no major aggression, other than the occassional tug-of-war over food, to date.
