I currently have a 55 gallon tank with an Archer. I am going to get my dragon goby on Friday... I'm curious as to what you would suggest with these two fish?

Since the Archer is mainly a top water, I know him and the dragon won't likely cross paths... I want a friendly establishment and environment.

My aquarium store was just bought out by new people, and I am totally in love with the new staff. They are very friendly and helpful, but I want to ask opinions of those who aren't trying to sell me fish!!

I'm also looking for a good fresh water combo for my sons 10 gallon tank... he uses it as his night light, and wants something nice to look at, but I'm not one for neons, guppies, or mollies... I want something fun to look at!

for your 55. maybe add a couple more archer fish. and you do know archer fish are brackish fish right? my lfs has big ones in completely SW. but as for now you can add some mono sebaes, scats, or maybe some african cichlids.

as ffor your sons 10 gal, you can do african clawed frogs, bettas, kribensis(probably your best choice to pick), or maybe some rams.

i agree with Ancient_Fish_Master, although African cichlids can be kind of mean as can South American but it depends on the personality of the fish, for example. i have 2 electric blue jack dempsey's they each out of my hand and dont get scared when my hand goes in the water, my firemouth is scared of it. there is always a chance for some kind of a fight, BUT Rams would be really nice they arent really as aggressive and are more of a swim and not mess with anyone

Yes I know Archers are brackish fish... I guess I should've mentioned I have a brackish tank :) sorry...

I worry about cichlids because the whole reason I set up a brackish tank was for the dragon goby... I HAD one, but the tank top got left off (not by me) and I had a dragon suicide :( Anyway... I am getting a new dragon goby tomorrow, and I've read I need non agressive fishies to house with him, so was looking for a few ideas on how I could stock my tank with some more fish.

i just bought a dinosaur bichair and its in my 55 with my 2 electric blue JD's and my firemouth and they arent bothering it, but make sure that you have alot of hiding places: rocks, live plants, a little cave or something for it to go in, and you should be fine, you could do any kind of a tropical community fish i bet, maybe a knife fish?
