Will it be ok to put fresh water clams in with my red bellied pacu, blue channel catfish and pleco? If not what kind of fish will go with fresh water clams, any help would be great. Thanks guys.

No offense pinnky, but all of your tanks are overstocked or will be very soon.

Pacu need several hundred gallons. Aros need a big tank, too because they get over 3 feet. As for the Blue catfish, they are basically the temperate version of the RTC. They get over 100 pounds, grow very fast, and are extremly predatory. If I were you, I would seriously rethink your fish choice, especially if a 55 is as big as you can go.

clams will get along with any fish, its the fish i would be worred about, i dont thing the pacu will mess with the clam but the cat fish it an other story, they are mostly bottom feeders and will gobble up just about any thing clam make some think of slime and shrimp love to eat its more like a mulcus or booger and i am sure it the cat fish gets a smell of it it will try to scoop it up into its mouth, but its still worth a try, clams have there shell to protect them and i am sure the cat will spit it out once it cant taste the slime any more
