I've been wondering as of late which combinations of both Parachromis and Amphilophus species in a 125+ gallon fish tank. I'm currently thinking about starting a new predator community tank mainly filled by the formerly stated genuses. My Red Devil and Parachromis Loiselle are doing well together, however, I would like to know if there are any other ideas anyone has about putting both amps and Paras together.

It's always a trial and error for any SA/CA cichlids, especially the large and aggressive ones. Its impossible to make a definitive statement on whether or not it will work because it totally depends on the individual fish temper assuming all else is ideal, i.e. water parameters, tank decor/layout and most importantly tank size! If you're looking to add another parachromis species, I'd recommend the smaller of the species like another loiselle or a red tiger mota. A jaguar will get too big imo for a 125 with other large tank makes as they get 16-18" or bigger..Dovii would also get way too big.
