I am thinking about getting a 12" Dorado from a buddy. Right now, everybody in my 850 gallon is pretty much mean as hell and holds their own or larger enough than the others that they don't mess with them. I have a 11" Jag, 11" Ocellaris, mated pair of wild doviis(18+" male and 12+" female), 10" false red terror, silver aro (not mean but 22+" and everybody leaves him alone), 14" Indo dat, and 23" lieucystic tsn (not mean, but nobody messes with him) a 16" clown knife and an 12" rck. The doviis pretty much rule the tank, but I am getting rid of the female so they won't gang up on the others. I am also getting rid of the ck and the rck. The dorado in question is not beating up his current tankmates. Also, I'd like to swap out a few other fish and add some more PBass later. Can I safely add the dorado once the female dovi, ck and rck are gone?

Fish with teeth are scary to test new arrangements with...Good luck and It would depend on all "the" factors on weather more bass will work after the other fish are removed. I will pay attention to this for a bit though...

Sometimes dorado's work and sometimes they don't.. I would be prepared for the latter happening..

Yes sometimes dorados are mellow and sometimes they will just be evil and kill everything. If I were you I wouldn't just my opinion.
