Any help would be awesome, already have 2 green severums and 1 blood parrot want to add red bay snook. Severums and parrot are pretty calm I don't forsee any problems. Also what are you feeding your snook, I don't like to use live food...I just bought mine today and he is only the size of a quarter got him in a 10gal by himself till he is big enough to go in my main tank.

The problem is your snook at some point will get large enough to eat your parrot fish (assuming you are talking about the hybrid & not the original parrot cichlid),& severum if the tank isn't large enough for them to stay out of the way. in a large tank a 10 in severum could probaly live with a 20 inch snook seeing as though they aren't usually aggressive just piscavorous(fish eating). how big is your tank? They can eat just about any prepared diet or meaty foods.

I doubt a snook could eat a big bp or severum. sevs are very tall, and bps get very wide.

depends on how big the sevs and BP's are now. if they are already pretty good size (4-6" or more) then they should be fine. but if the sevs and bp's are still pretty small then the snook will quickly outgrow them and will get to a size of being able to eat them before they get anywhere near adult size.:D

My sevrums and hybrid parrot are very large both tall and wide, I have no concerns of them becoming meals, I am more worried of them fighting for territory.

By the way that first post by bilandshark was me, was visiting another member's house and decided to post a question, I did'nt feel like logging off and signing in!!

If they parrot is not at least 6 -8 inches the shovelnose or snook will eat it no problem once they get 20 inches. Also make sure the rapheal cats stay at size pace with the shovelnose & snook. How big is the tank?
