Nope. The arowana will attempt to go to the bottom and even middle if it feels it needs to.

but is there a time limit such that with in a week the arowana does not attack them there is a possibility that thiscombination might work

A week is very short to tell whether the combo will work or not. Just do not risk the mix at all IMO.

yup the the arowana would be a problem. i had a 11incher with 3-4in corys and the corys disappeared 1 by 1. cant imagine what would happen to 2in clown loaches
