You gotta try and see.
Depends on tank size, how many parrots, and how mean your FH.

If tank is large enough and your FH is not too mean, he might just chase the parrots for a while and not care about them afterwards and only chase them off if theyre in his way or feeding time.

How many parrots and how large of a tank?

My FH largest FH @ 9" doen't hurt his tank mates And he's scared of grow outs. lol. But same size fishes will get the beat down.

i was going to get 4 or 5 and tank is 3 x 1.5x 1.5 and im not sure how mean he is never had tankmates before and do they need to be bigger or is 3 inch ok

No. Don't do it. That tank is too small. He'll scare/stress them to sickness and death in time.

Agree with above, it will at minimum harass them incessantly, and will not work out well

If u really want to.mix your fh with other fishes then get yourself a bigger tank of minimum 150gallons and then u can try mixing him . And if u still want to mix him in your current size tank then get parrot bigger or of same size of your fh. I would suggest u a bigger parrot .And keep in mind that our hobby is all about try and error so every idea deserves a shot .good luck:thumbup:

To mix cichlids/FHs you would try to avoid same size. That make them sense competition and one will target the other same sized fish. To mix cichlids, U gotta smartly have them in ranks from tank boss down. The ones who are same size usually end up fighting a long fight and the looser in the end will get harassed to you save it. I like to mix my fishes too. I don't like one fish in a tank too much either. But I have to with my big boy eventually to put him at full show. FHs look at their best being alone.

Rightly said man. I was also figuring out how to say that in brief. This is what makes a complete balanced .:D

My 5.5 inch little monster FH will murder cichlids older than him by constantly picking on them. But even if you do add fishes that are more powerful than an FH, your FH will fight to death.
Unless you have a decently behaved FH, I suggest you save your money.
