I have 4 different colored up male peacocks in my assorted 125g African cichlid tank. One of which is a sunshine peacock. I just added two young female sunshine peacocks. I know that weird breeding can happen when no suitable males are around.(hybrids)

QUESTION: Will the female sunshines pair up, as a first choice, with the male sunshine? or will the females "take on" any of the peacocks.
Am I just asking for problems?

The won't nessecarily go for the same sp. I had a male A. masoni hook up with yellow lab when there were 8 females for him. It was him, 8 females, and 1 female yellow lab and he got with her.

Took the yellow lab out and he got all the females holding.

It all really just depends.

Most likely the dominant male peacock will breed with the females, no matter what species. Please don't keep any of the fry from the females as there's a very high liklihood that they'll be hybrids.

update:
pulled the two new fish from the 125g (hopefully females)
They are in their new home, currently with some small yellow labs for grow out.
I will bring in one of the males for breeding.
