Well, I let my students do a water change on the new 140g tank that is still cycling. Nitrites refuse to disappear, trace levels of ammonia, healthy levels of nitrate (15ppm). Anyways, I had them do a 50% water change on Friday. And, kids being kids, left the hose running! After a few sharp words, the mess was cleaned up. However, I got so off my game that I failed to plug in the canister filter. When I went in this afternoon, I realized my error. Water quality hadn't changed, and the cycle still isn;t complete.
Anyways, I think all of us hate flooding rooms. It gives fishkeepers a bad rap. Doesn't anyone know of any overflow prevention plumbing so that I can flood proof my students/classroom???
And one last mistake over the weekend, I'm not sure if it was me or someone else, but a pack of frozen bloodworms was on my floor, and had fallen out of the freezer somehow. My room reeked!
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day = )
