compressed cichilid/bichir mixing

so hopefully soon i am going to be getting a 75gallon for my bichirs and saw some of these cichlids at the fish store. i love the look of them(my fav fish seem to always by lower jawed) and was wondering if any one has kept them together. i always worry that the cichlids are going to pick at the bichirs but i really need a top level fish. also if you have is 7.4-7.6 pH okay for them at a little higher temps.

compressiceps cichlid i think, check google images for them. i guess they get the name because they're pretty thin, the ones i want have a pretty significant underbite. they just look mean to me :)
 
Altolamprologus or Dimidiochromis compressiceps? Dimidiochromis would work better as Altos are very slow growing and are not top swimmers.

^^ I agree. D. compressiceps would be a better choice in the long run.
