What if anything is the downside to housing these together in one large aquarium? Will they crossbreed or fight?
Not planning on doing this, but I have both in separate tanks with schools of Fronts, so just curious if I ever needed to in an emergency situation put them together, if I'd be OK. Obviously they would have to be of comparable sizes.

Thanks
Chris

Some swear they won't crossbreed, some swear they will. As long as you have 3 or more males and don't save fry, housing them together should be OK especially if it is just for a short time during an emergency.

Right now I have no idea because they are all young and only around the 2" mark and I have never had them before. Also kind of curious just for the knowledge.....

Done this MANY times and in my experiences, if you follow the three male rule, the two species will completely ignore each other (even at spawning time). It actually becomes very cool being able to enjoy both species and notice their differences. I highly recommend it.

I may have to try it then, I know they will not grow as fast as the Fronts that I have them with now. Thanks for the info, as usual it's much appreciated!
