In the shadow of death.....
I bought a 4x2x2 pine wood stand and hood on the weekend and didn't like the workmanship. I then bought some 32/50mm 8g wood screws and set about reinforcing the weight bearing areas. Have i ultimately compromised my stand????

What no one can help..............thats a first!

Did you add 2x4's or just add screws?

If you added lumber and screws...that wouldn't compromise your stand, but would make it stonger.

Do you have a picture of the stand?

I didn't add 2x4s i just drove the wood screws in the joints where they were stapled.
Is this helping or hampering i kind of rushed into it before thinking.

It's probably helping, as long as you didn't crack any of the pine with the screws.

yeah, make sure it didn't split or crack the wood. Tip on the screws....you may have done it, but it is important to drill pilot holes. It helps avoid causing cracks or splitting.

I would recommend adding some 2x4's....this will keep any bowing from happening.
