So, my Black Con is nipping the fins of my Jag. They are both juvi. The con is bigger, but not by much. They are in a 100G 6ft with plenty of hiding spots. I tried to move the jag but cant catch him without taking the whole tank down. Should I just let it play out?

I would let it play out if the con isn't doing any "real" damage and the jag isn't too stressed.Or like suggested place a divider in the tank till the jag puts on a litle size.

I wouldnt worry about it if it is nothing serious. In about a month or 2 your jag is gonna put that con it its place.

Also, it might not be a bad thing if your looking to add other fish later. If that con gives your jag a little taste of submission, the jag may end up growing to be a mellower jag (as much as can be said of jags) and let you keep him with other tankmates.

I have a con who thinks he's the boss and used to pick on my jag when it was still like 3-4 inches but now that the jag is 10 inches and the con is still 4-5 inches it doesnt work that way anymore.

Cool, thanks folks. That's what I was thinking too. I feel a little bad for the Jag hanging out in the corner at the top of the tank but he'll probably rule this tank with an iron fist in a few months! lol

I have a Jag right now (3in). He is a ferocious little turd. Been punking my green terror and Buttikofferi. Guess he has the biggest mouth, so he wins.

I don't really care though. Whomever kills everyone else off in that tank, becomes tank king.

It is rare that male Jags tolerate other tankmates when they get big. Just the nature of the beast I suppose. Same goes for large Butti.
