I've been unable to get a pic of this as the fish is very skittish and the problem is sort of like at the base of its left pectoral fin, which is difficult to get on camera b/c it turns to face me when I approach.
It sort of looks like white gummy cotton or something, almost coming out of the convict's "armpit" and growing up slightly onto the fin. The fish is eating healthily, water params are pristine with a pH of about 6.5 and a temp of ~83.
His tank got ich during/after hurricane Sandy power loss, but I'd upped the temperature, added a bit of salt (I've been adding less each WC recently) and put a UV sterilizer on the tank, and I haven't seen any signs of ich for two weeks or so.
He's had this fungus-like thing more or less since I got him (approx 1 month ago) and he is WC. I *think* the "fungus" is getting smaller but I'd like to take the UV off the tank, although I'm hesitant.
No signs of the disease on any other fish in the tank, although the female con may have had a mild case, couldn't tell.
If difficult to diagnose via description I can put in some more effort to get photos later.
Thanks!
