my female con and male FM just layed eggs in a conk shell. Im soo excited it is exactly what i wanted to happen. They are about 2 days old now. This is the first fish i ever bred accept swordtails. i wasnt expecting eggs for a while because my male FM is not even 3" yet but cool. ill keep everyone posted.

well i got home and she ate about half the eggs but also dug out a huge pit in front of the shell. ill post pics and keep everyone updated.

yes she would females often lay eggs without a male. she was being a good mother and eating the dead/fungal eggs. its a good sign.

The eggs from the pic looks like the right color. Sometimes it takes the parents a couple of trys to get it right.
