Got my 55 gallon started...going for african river look/set up..with african black knife as my center piece fish...with rope fish, birch, and elephant nose fish to represent that african river Com...the tank has small river pebbles as bottom with lots of mopani wood as shelters/retreats...will also have some asian and aussie fish like some gourami's and ranibows...was thinking of a dehlzi or ornate bichir..the plastice plants in my tank (the soft silk cloth type) and all buried in the pebble rock...with larger pebbles/stacker rocks around their bases...will this keep the bichir from uprooting them?...i heard they do this...but then again..when i see pics of your bichirs ...they are sometimes in tanks with real pants!!!..how?
also..do the ornate or dehlzi get too big for my 55 ...is one smaller than the other?...if so which one?...if both will grow to big..then which one would i have to settle for...i hate senegal or palamas
