Concrete block stand -reply quick plz

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For my 125 I just used 3 stacks of 3 blocks. Spaced them evenly and cut a 2x2 for each stack and laid a 2x2 length wise cut at each stack so it sits on the wood.

Hello; However you stack the blocks and wood be sure to check for level and perhaps more important true. By true, meaning that there are no high spots or dips across the length where the tank bottom will sit. Check the surfaces of the blocks and remove any projections that might prevent them from sitting flat on rach other.

Good luck

You could still push it over on both ends, more columns you use the more sturdy it will be. Make sure its against the wall and as said above use a level and shim if u need to. Obviously obvious

Total cost of my stand-18$-easy to run wires and set filter hoses up too.

with the columns only on the end it sounds like there will be alot of pressure pushing down at the center of the tank. is the 55 dimension designed to only be held up on the ends and not in the middle? i think i would consider the third column in the center.

Personally I wouldn't have any glass tank only supported at just the ends like that, I know people seem to get away with it but to me it seems like a recipe for disaster. I think the best way would to be to build a rigid frame from 4x2 to sit on top of the blocks so it can be levelled completely and will support the entire base of the tank.
