I am attempting to make a true monster tank
The dimensions are 18 1/2 feet long, 5 feet wide and 6 feet wide
The way that i heard was safest is make the whole thing out of concrete with 4 acrylic viewing windows.
What i need to know is, do you have to make a concrete tank in place or can you move it. If you can move it, is there anyway to transport it.
Thanks
p.s do you know any professionals that would make this monster tank for me.

Anything can be moved if you have the right equipment. To move that type and size tank, you will have to have a very big fork lift or crane. If you are going to put in your house, you may have to remove a wall or roof to get it in. Depending on where you want to put it, moving it for the average person will be impossible without damage. The average piano movers won't get the job done.

Yeah, you'd likely have to hire a house moving company for that.
Cant think of anyone else with the equipment and experience for something like that.

A tank that size would be hard to move as it is... being made out of concrete sounds like it would be a next to impossible job without some seriously industrial sized moving equipment...

Hello; In addition to the other coments let me add that if you build it with the plan to move it, that you will have to include some sort of very sturdy base/ frame structure to carry the weight of the tank. Gaps where a forklift, jacks or some other lifting device can be placed under the tank may be needed. Maybe a steel frame inside the concrete with eye bolts sticking out at strategic spots wher it can be lifted. Think those big highway barriers that are lifted into place? Think cement septic tanks that are lifted into place??

Is the tank going into a building with garage-type doors? Or will it be going through a hole in the wall? My tank is much smaller than yours at 15' x 4' x 4', and it will not fit through any door. Stand and tank were brought in before the outside wall was finished.

If you were to consider acrylic tanks, there are tank manufacturers who will come and build an acrylic tank on site for you. Since you are already looking for a professional tank builder, I would suggest an acrylic tank built on site. That would save the expense and hassle of moving the tank. Do you have a foundation that's suitable for the weight of that huge tank?

The area under my fish tank was reinforced with extra rebar. The whole slab was poured over the old garage floor. That was what my engineer came up with when drawing up the plans for my fish room.

I would say it is impossible to do it issue free. Concrete doesn't flex and would more than likely crack if you tried. Not to mention it would probably be cheaper to build a new one than move an old one.

The real question isn't can it be moved but how much are you willing to spend? Much larger concrete structures are moved every day for bridges and buildings but cranes and operators don't come cheap.
