I have a pink tipped Haitian (condylactis).

Tank: 55Gal
Salinity: 1.025
pH: 8.1
Nitrate: 5
Nitrite: 0

The condy has been in the tank for about a month now and loves to eat. He is most always wide open and inflated except maybe at night he will deflate a bit.

Recently I had a red slime outbreak. I treated with red slime remover and it came back a week later. So I removed all the live rock from the tank to give it a cleaning. The condy was attached to his favorite rock I attempted to remove him (very gently) but could not he seems very agitated i was messing with him so i left his rock alone. After cleaning the rock and re-aranged it in the tank did a 30% water change and re-applied the red slime remover. At this point because of the re-arangement the condy was being hit by the powerhead pretty hard so he moved himself to a different rock and he is not completly deflated and has been this way for about two days yesterday he was completly deflated, this morning his base/stalk seems inflated however his tenticles are not.

Another thing is he moved himself out of the light and is now not reciving any light.....

is he going to die and what the heck happened?

well you have plenty of light. Could just be all the aggitation of cleaning anemones can be odd sometimes, I have 6 bubble tip that all close up for days at a time and act almost dead then open back up and feed like normal. Until he actually starts breaking down (rotting) he is still alive. Condys are very hardy though. What are you feeding it?

he nabs bits of brine shrimp that the other fish fail to catch (before the rock change he had positioned himself to perfectly catch the brine shrimp as the power head pushed them basically right at him) also once a week i will feed him a piece of diced shrimp. I haven't soaked them in vitamins though.

I've had good luck feeding minnows or frozen silversides twice a week to condys. Doesnt mean your feeding the wrong stuff, thats just I've used. Condys eat anything and everything though, so watch your small fish and crabs and shrimp, haha.
