Anyone know where I can get a Cone Snail or something similar? Ive never liked snails...except this one :headbang2

I have a salt tank with no fish or snails that should wok for it.

unless...
1. It eats mantis shrimp (spearer that doesnt touch anything but fish) or hermit crabs

2. Messes with or eats coral

3. have major special requirements

can anyone help me out?

you'll want to NEVER put your hand in the tank, istead of rarely with the mantis (specially if you c an/do put them together)
i think their toxin is about that of a BRO

Hence the reason I want it! :headbang2

ha ha yea im weird like that...I like creatures that scare me

anyone know if these can even be obtained?

you can go and find one.... other than that, no...

That's a dangerous animal. I believe also that they are predatory, which makes feeding difficult.

Ya also keeping your fish safe would be extremely difficult. I would highly suggest that you don't get one. Not to mention its probably illegal. I know for venomous snakes if you bring a species to a zoo or similar institute the hospitals have to carry the anti venom for it. I'm not too familiar with cone snails though so I'm not sure if their even is an anti venom because its probably a neurotoxin of some sort. So you would have legal issues and would have to notify a bunch of places. I would say its a major no no. Its like saying I have a corn snake I have had it for a year and have had no experience with venomous snakes I want a cobra!

the toxin of a cone snail is a neurotoxin. in some species the venom is toxic enough to kill in seconds. so...if you were to get the Conus geographus, the worst of the worst and you messed up just once...well then your going to be really sorry for only a short few minutes. you also wouldnt be able to keep fish with these snails as they are predatory and will kill fish, worms and other mollusks. they are snails but are very fast with their weapon. a tube that has a dart like organ filled with the toxin.

IMO not worth messing with.
