Confirm ID please

Well they are often miss labeled. It might just be a Surinamensis or a Altifrons if it was not bought from a trusted source( like a LFS or Petco/petsmart) ..... they look gret though.

he died due to ick. but that was when i was a noob and walked into a shop and saw a cichlid and it was mine

Those look like really nice Geo's. As far as the exact species, its really hard to say. Do you know where they were collected from? Or were they tank raised? They kind of look like one of my geo's that has since been labeled an altifrons. But i believe Tapajos II stay smaller then the ALtifrons does, and my geo has stopped growing since he hit 5.5 inches. Its in a 120G tank.

Id say that the pics of your future Geo's and my geos DEF show differences in the tails.
You should just get them, regardless what species they look awesome and if u like them thats all that matters.
Also i doubt Surinamensis, because that name basically has become the typical name LFS sell their Geos under. Most turn out ot be altifrons, but i got a few Dicrosozters too! Those are much more attractive i think.

I am getting them from a man in Texas. He raises/breeds several geos, gymnogeos, etc. They are F0s.
I know there are people with way more experience on MFK than me so I just wanted to show you all the pics to help confirm what i was getting.
Yeah, I'm beginning to stay away from LFS around here. I can get everything I need from the web. And also find people who actually go to SA and catch these fish we buy.
Well keep an eye out for other eartheaters FS and let me know. Within the next year I plan on turning my shop into a breeding facility with ONLY CA/SA cichlids and lots of eartheaters.
