Conflicting info, perhaps due to conflicting experiences. Adonis with bichirs?

This guy says it can work, but others have strictly informed me to never try any pleco with any bichir. I understand the reasons, what throws me are the successful cases. Does anybody keep an adonis with a bichir?

Only plecos of genus Pterygoplichthys are known to suck on slimes.


I have successfully mix spiny type pleco, panaques and many more with my bichirs and gars but not with the genus Pterygoplichthys.

I've had L014, L253 and L330 with my bichirs.

From my experience with pleco's and ploy's , the pleco that i had would pick on my ploys, i wud say that its is not a good mix if want you ploy's to be in good condition. I currently 03 sun catfish with my polys and they seem to get along well.

there's always a risk... but if you have multiple large bichirs it'll be alright for sure... get a driftwood for your pleco to graze on...

I kept my rhino pleco with my albino senegal with no problems, they hardly ever came in contact.

I'm tempted to mix my rubber-lip pleco in with the two sen's. They're all still juvi right now...the sen's are 3 & 4", the pleco might be 1.5". The pleco is kind of between a rock & a hard place though...right now he's in a 20gal with 2 convicts (eventually I will have a breeding pair in there, right now i think I have two females) where he will inevitably die. And the other option is my 65 with 2 sens and a jack dempsey, where I'll be worried constantly about him killing my bichirs.

I dunno what to do with him. Once the convicts get hostile I might try him in the 65, but at the first sign of trouble its back to the LFS with that one.
