I would love to do an over flow off my 210 gallon tank.... but I'm confused as to weather or not its tempered... I've read that only the bottom. Plate is ever tempered? Is this true? Would I be able to drill the top side of my tank or are some tanks tempered all the way around?

Do you know the mfg. of your tank?

Some mfg. do use tempered glass on some or all panels but it's not usual on big tanks and may depend on glass thickness and how the tank is constructed.

There is a DIY topic on 'how to identify if my tank is tempered' so just do a quick search and it should show up.

King of diy also has a video on his channel about finding out if you have a tempered or just regular glass tank. It was pretty useful.

Ok so I looked it up and saw the use of polarized glasses to see if its tempered or not... only problem is I have very low light in my house and it's not very sunny here lately so when I put sunglasses on all of my tanks look the same lol... I did read though that the edges of tempered glass is always smooth and regular glass will be rough and have lots of imperfections... so would you say this is tempered or regular?

You use your phone with a white screen and put it on the other side of the tank (inside). You don’t use sunlight/other random light.

if those are chips, more than likely not tempered. tempered glass loves to shatter, like crystal. and not flake when chipped.
