so i have a silver lyretail molly and he appears to be trying to breed with my one silver dollar. the molly swims up underneath the silver dollar and erects his apparent member, poking the silver dollar in the ventral side near its anal cavity. the silver dollar doesn't seem to mind, just kind of slowly swims away. should i be worried about anything? is there any chance that these two different species can interbreed?

No, these two species can not interbreed. The silver dollar is a characin (tetra family) and the molly is a live bearer. As you have already found out male mollies try to breed with just about everything.
