So I've recently bought two yo-yo loaches. I've heard that they haven't really been breed much in captivity, but that the females still often produce eggs. Well, my female, all in the time span of about twelve hours, appears to fill with eggs, growing round and bumpy, and then back to normal. Is this normal? Like I said, I'm new to this type of loach, so is that time span regular for them? Because it seems rather odd.
Thanks

I'm sure she's probably not actually laying live eggs, I just was wondering because it seemed odd.

They won't become gravid over the course of twelve hours

that's why I'm confused, the size and stomach is fluxuating in weird intervals. it's normal when i turn on the light around 10, by 5 its stomach is huge, but by 11ish it's back to normal. the only thing i could think of, is the way that upside down cats sometime have a bubble in their stomach to make it easier to float to the surface, but it's not a single rounded bubble, it's lumpy...idk

but it's only the one. well i'm thinking of putting it in a breeder just so i can monitor it better for a few days.

idk i'm just going to watch it for now. i know what a fish looks like when it eats too much lol, so i know that's not what it is. i've had the yoyo's for about three weeks. It's still the same from this morning, so maybe it is just filling with eggs. Oh, well, I guess I'll figure it out lol
