At the beginning, i had four channa gauchas. Then two paired up, and the most aggressive one from the pair attacked the other two channas. In the End, i got rid of the other two and just have the pair left. Im just confused becuz, it really seems like a mating pair. i planted most of my tank, leaving them an abundant amount of space and environment for mating. But they are not. The two unseperateable, stay kicking it with each other. Could it be possible that they are not at theyre not big enough to mate or is it that they are not mating pairs and that they are just roaddoggs till the end ? homies or mating pair ?> wat can be possible ahnd wat cannot please tell a brother. thanks

just give it some time. If they've paired up it should be noticeable. How big are they now?

It took my assams several months and a few spawning attempts to get it right so as sqratch says, be patient. You could also try lowering the temp. for a month or 2 then raising it suddenly, but looking at where you're from that might not be easy lol.

Keep their water clean with fairly frequent water changes for a while. Penty of floating top cover and hiding spaces such as a nice ceramic pot. Remove any strong filtration and switch to a bubble filter that runs on a simple air pump and filter floss. Mix up food and try raw shrimp, meal worms and earthworms. Shrimp might spoil them so use pellets they like as well. Cover tank for periods with a sheet. Keep your male and female nice and fat. The male will need this extra weight when he holds a clutch in his mouth. It may take a few tries before they get it right. Might be a good idea to remove gravel so that tank will be easier to clean once they spawn. If and when they get it right, please let me know?????????
good luck also youll love it when they have a successful spawn . youll see swarm of babies eat off parents slime coat and if youre real lucky youll get to see mom lay on back and squirm as she releases feeder eggs!!
GOODLUCK!!!!!

Man, I'd like to keep this going. But, discussing the maintenance of a kept illegal species is against MFK rules. Closing this thread down. Do not restart it in this PUBLIC forum. Have a brain and PM.
