I know this is a long shot, but has anyone ever kept congicus with smaller polys? I have an ornate, which I'm not worried about, and then I have a senegal and rope. I know my odds are against me, but I'm really hoping someone has had this to work.

I would not do this. The ornate can eat the congicus if he a bit skinny and later on the congicus can eat the ornate and the rope, because it grows much faster that them. If you do it make shure there well fed and relocate the congicus when it get's much bigger than the other two.

Oh, they're well fed. The question is actually meant for long term. The ornate doesn't really bother anybody. The only fish he's eaten was acting very strange the night before he disappeared, and more than likely died before it was eaten. He's been in with much smaller fish and would actually let them sit at the tip of his nose without problems.

Like I said, on the long term the congicus out grows the others and has the possibility to eat them, not saying it will, but don't say you didn't knew the risk when he does...:)

I know what you're saying, and totally agree. I'm just being optimisticaly stubborn in hoping someone has already tried it:D

There is only one way to find out! throw them all in there together and look for signs of aggression.

I wouldn't add the ropefish....I had a 12" senegal partially eat and choke to death on a 14" rope.

I've kept dels and senegals at least a third the size of my congicus and endli's with no problem. but with poly's it is all about individual personality. mine all seem to be softies and have had a 2" ram live with them for years. here's a couple of old pics.
