Hey everyone I recently picked up a couple Polypterus endlicheri concicus, and i was curious if anyone knows what the growth rate on these monsters is like. From what i've read they noramally are fairly large on purchase.. my two are only about 3" long. starting off in a 40 gallon. And once they out grow it i'm likly going to aim for a 6' breeder tank as there second home.

Any way i know they can get big 38-39" but can't find much on how quickly they will grow. any info would be great.

Thanks

only the wild caught 1s get 38-39" in a huge tank! in like 10 years Lmao

so slow growth rate... anyone with personal experiance with this species ? i find lots of generic info but nothing first hand....

Why don't you try it yourself and see what will be the result. Not all bichirs species have similar growth rate also different bichir keepers have different ways of taking care of their bichirs which will play a very important role in bichir growth rate.. Some will grow fast some will grow slow. Depend on how many time you feed it in a day/week and how much food it eat. Also doing regular water change also help it's growth rate. Stress can also slow down growth rate. Also the genetics of the bichir play a vital part of it's growth rate.
