Alright I'm thinking about setting up an African river biotope for my future congo puffer. So far I know the substrate needs to be sand. Is pool filter sand to heavy/rough for a congo puffer because I prefer to use that as it won't clog my filter. Any pics/descriptions of this biotope would be great. Thanks.

Yep, Pool filter sand is fine... Lots of bogwood... Crinum plant species and Bolbitis heudelotii could be grown on the bogwood (thought the plant benefits a lot from CO2 and needs slighty acidic and soft water...
