I'm looking To get something aggressive for my 40g tank if you guys know of any other fish that can stay in the 40g I would like to hear it.
Also how many exodons would fit In a 40g?

The congo puffer would be agressive towards food, but they are lurkers, and not super high energy. So, you may want something that would give more action to the tank.

If you want a more active puffer, in 40 you could do one gsp, 2-3 f8s, a nice colony of dwarf puffers or a couple of SAP puffers. The first two puffers are brackish and the last two are fw.

Honestly, of all the puffers i've personally kept, i almost miss my Congo the most... i would say if you can get lucky and go hunting for one in person, try and find the most active one you can find...

My one used to actually come out of hiding and up to the glass when i used to go near the tank, after a while, my congo even sort of worked out when it was feeding time... definitely a very interesting puffer to get IF you can find one that doesn't just bury itself all day every day...

Otherwise, what about some of the other smaller active species of puffers such as the C.irrubesco or C.Loreti?

They are C.irrubesco isn't quite as aggresive as the loerti if i remember correctly, but both have some nice patterns imo...

Im not sure if age plays a part in all this, although i guess it could?

But for reference, when i bought mine before there were probably 10 to choose from, but this little guy used to always come up to the glass when certain people walked by (myself included), so needless to say out of the 10 that one went home with me :)
