Hey. I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place. If it is please move it.

I’m moving in July to Connecticut, about 2.5 hours south of where I’m living in MA. I’ll be about an hour and a half from one great shop in MA and one that is good, but I don’t care for. Same distance. My favorite shops will be over 2-2.5 hours which kills me. I was wondering if there’s any really good speciality shops anywhere in Connecticut. My wife googled it one day and said we were going to be close to a spot called Wet Pets or something. Also if there’s anyone in CT that wants to help me set up a pool in a few months I’ve got one. Thanks.

Like I said, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Sounds like central CT.......Not far from Hartford. Wet Pets, Animal City, Aquatic Wlldlife and Emmons are the four premier stores. None are amazing for Monsters but exotics and selection are good....prices on the high side. Wet Pets is more about Salt than fresh. Welcome to CT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m more about monsters and American cichlids than anything. I’m excited to move and I’m excited for the adventure or finding new shops. I’ve exhausted Massachusetts. Moving my hundred whatever fish is going to be interesting. I’ll be living in Tolland. But I’m excited to be able to keep my stuff in the giant basement. Are the laws there similar to here? You basically can’t own piranhas and the obvious and that’s pretty much it.

Most stuff is fair game......true no piranhas. Plenty of baby monsters around but not many huge fish in stores........Aquatic Wildlife is fish only. Emmons and Animal City are mostly fish and reptiles with a few birds thrown in. I have found the best deals lately at Animal City and they take some monster trades in and sometimes will surprise you. I would not waste my time at Waterbury Aquarium.
