Im pretty new here and just noticed this forum. Here is some pictures of striped bass we caught in connecticut this year. The fish were between 32 and 44.5 inches
I have fished all those places from my friends boat and usually we did better with blues than the stripers.
All of these fish are saltwater stripers that run up the freshwater rivers in the spring and early summer. They are chasing the spawning american shad and herring. These were all caught in under 5 feet of water at night on surface plugs 9 inch split bombers or 9 inch houdini shad. From my 17 foot skiff we caught 187 fish over 30 inches (28 inches is keeper size) this year from the river between the second week of may and the third week of june.
Great catches...Im jealous! The hybrid and striper fishing gets started here (KY) in the Ohio River this time of year, but it was been so dry and the river so low they are spread out all over the place instead of below the dams like they normally are so its tough fishing.
