just need the plumbing and sump. i like the idea of having 1 central filtration unit. would cut down on my maint for sure.
What I want to do is make an 8 foot 110 gallon.
Cut the ends off seal them back together.
What would be the best for center brace?

I think its a idea waiting to go wrong. Read stories about regular tanks falling apart. One just happened

the glass on a 55 is not thick enough to hold the weight of a 110 gallon. i wanted to do the same thing and thought of that. i am going to make a plywood tank instead
I believe there was a thread on here about a month or 2 ago where this was tried. Can't remember if it was successful or not, might want to search for it.
Why not sell the 55g tanks and put that cash towards a bigger tank? then build your filtration once you know your configuration
ya remember that thread there were after pics of it as well filled looked realy cool
There was a guy on here I think that put 2 55g and a 29g all together and it looked good
