I'm thinking of those tubes/tunnels that hold water and allow the fish to travel between the two tanks. I have two 20 gallons that id like to connect. It doesn't have to be a long connection, just for 2 tanks right next to eachother. So is there a way to do this or is it just a bad idea cause the fish won't go thru it? Every site I look on that sells clear pvc but its super expensive, does anyone know a way to connect 2 tanks together that isn't so expensive?

Does the connection have to be clear? if not just use normal piping.

The easiest way would be get both tanks drilled at the same level, fit bulk head fittings then fit the tube between the 2. But Bulk heads definately wouldn't be clear and neither would the pvc pipe if you don't want to pay much. I think they're available in acrylic too.

It could be done out of all clear glass (i have plans drawn up of my own) but you'd need to find someone with a water jet cutting machine and the cost would soon ramp up again.

It can be done with acrylic or just plain old PVC. What you are referring to is called a water bridge. If you are just looking to share some water flow, then you could also used the u-tubes that are used in HOB overflows. You can buy them on-line for about $4.

Yeah I could do normal white PVC. Probably my best bet. Do you know if there is anywhere to buy a acrylic connection?

Now that you say that there is some alternatives. Ill have to look into that.

There was a diy thread with a link to clear tubing, might be acrylic. Have a search down the DIY Projects and Ideas Forum, should be there somewhere.

Ok, thankyou.
