I have clear plastic tubing from the hardware store that I use for doing water changes. I want to add a tank to my room but it's missing a few feet...and I also happen to have an older piece that's a few feet long. Do you guys think I can somehow combine the two pieces so that I won't need to invest in a new water changing hose?

yeah i have the same thing but at my local hardware store it was 9.99 for a 10ft roll or 2.87 per ft. so I bought 4 of the 10ft rolls and some connectors if i can find the fittings ill post them here if not just take your smaller piece of hose with you to the local hardware store and tell them you need a connector

You need a barbed connector and some hose clamps. Commonly available at hardware or home improvement stores.

uh mines is more ghetto since one tube was samller.......i just jamed it in the end of the biggger one!!

Put the connecting ends of the pipes in hot water for 20 seconds before putting them onto the connectors - they will go on easier and will shrink as they cool, for a tighter fit.

Yes now I am not the only one who has gone this route. I had to heat up the bigger tube to fit the smaller on in like Riches mentioned
