In the next 6 months or so I am going to be moving my tank in to a different room next to my bathroom. I am thinking of drilling a extra drain in the tank and connecting that to the stop cock on the toilet, so each time you flush it 10L drains from the tank and flushes the toilet. That part I think would be fairly easy. I am after ideas for a fail safe way of topping the tank back up.

I believe most float valves require pressure to seat the stop.
You may want to look into a bell syphon which is gravity fed.

Just have a emergancy overflow in the sump to sewer. As a fail safe . Or even a small bilge pump on a float switch.
Thanks, that's the fail safe I couldn't think of, a overflow from the sump to the drain would work wonders.
